The requirements for this 4,000 SF loft for a noted Jazz musician/composer included the creation of a soundproof practice room, the accommodation of a large art collection and the client’s desire to have as open an environment as possible. The solution was to group the private and service functions around an existing plumbing core, the position of which together with movable screens would create separate areas as needed. The lighting and color palette were developed to enhance the overall plan layout.
